Verticillium lecanii as a hyperparasite of grapevine powdery mildew (Uncinula necator)
Oidiospores of Uncinula necator germinating on leaf discs of Vitis vinifera cvs or on ultrathin metacrylate membranes were infected by a hyperparasite which was identified as Verticillium lecanii. Oidiospores were penetrated by hyphae of this fungus either directly or by means of appressoria. Infected spores eventually shrunk and died.
