Estimation of broad sense heritability of some characters of Vitis vinifera
In 1974 and 1975, investigation data were obtained from 6 Vitis vinifera cvs. grown at 10 locations and used to calculate the broad sense heritability (Hw). The values for Hw lie within the same range as those established for other cultivated plants. Relatively high Hw values were found for all investigated yield components and for the vegetative characters. Notwithstanding environmental influences, a selection with regard to these characters should thus be successful for vegetative propagation of
- plants from seedling populations,
- plants from clonal selection
- and plants from mutation trials.
