Studies on artificial mycorrhiza in Vitis riparia
Under sterile conditions a mycorrhiza is formed between Aureobasidium pullulans and Vitis riparia. The mycelium forms a dense plectenchymatic layer an the roots and a more or less complete HARTIG net between the cells of the cortex. The fungus produces a growth substance inducing internodial elongation of the plantlet even before a hyphal contact is achieved.
