Tackling Ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia L.) in North Rhine-Westphalia
Since the beginning of common ragweed registration in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2007 there have been 427 ragweed records, among them 31 populations with more than 100 individuals. Common ragweed is not yet established in North Rhine-Westphalia but seems to do very well on sandy soils in the Lowland. North Rhine-Westphalia is tackling common ragweed in an early stage of invasion and will continue the strategy of rapid response to achieve a total eradication.
