Journal of Cultivated Plants, Volume 73 Issue 7-8, is online

Dear Readers,

This year, with volume 73, we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Journal of Cultivated Plants. Have we lost count? No, because the first issue of this journal, which was then published as “Nachrichtenblatt für den Deutschen Pflanzenschutzdienst”, actually appeared as early as 1921. However, the subsequent war and the division of Germany were responsible for the journal not only changing titles, but also continuing with a new count in 1949. To honour the eventful history of the Journal of Cultivated Plants, we present an anniversary issue. In it, in addition to the history of the journal, we present twelve impressive articles which - selected according to the most frequent topics of this journal over the last 100 years - still reflect the subject areas of the Julius Kühn Institute today and shed light on the past, present and future.
