Importance of CEN and ISO standards with respect to the application techniques for pesticides and the implementation of EU directives
Keywords:
Pesticide application, spraying equipment, standards, legislation, EU directivesAbstract
The EU directives 2009/127/EC and 2009/127/EC specify the environment related regulations for crop protection equipment with respect to its placing on the market and the inspection of equipment in use. Harmonized European standards provide detailed technical specifications in order to support the essential requirements given in the directives. By this, these standards contribute to the safety of the environment and consumers and support manufacturers and authorities with respect to the implementation of the EU regulations. The standards have to be reviewed and amended in the near future to ensure that they represent the actual state of art.
