Phosphorus recycling for agriculture – On the prospects of P-recycling in Switzerland, including user acceptance and market considerations

Since January 2016, the new Waste Ordinance (VVEA) has been in effect in Switzerland. This article highlights the importance of the obligation to recycle phosphorus and critically examines five main challenges for its implementation, on the basis of a study regarding market potential and acceptance of fertilizers with secondary nutrients.
